So, I thought it might be interesting to show you how I fixed my nasal hair trimmer. It wasn't turning on, and after messing around a bit, I found out the contact piece wasn't reaching the battery properly. Just needed a little loosen-up to make solid contact. Now it works, but it's a bit sensitive; it just can't wait to start trimming, I guess. Anyway, hope that was helpful, especially if you're dealing with hair growth surprises like me!

[0:00] so I thought this might be kind of
[0:01] interesting um this uh personal gomy
[0:05] device lasal hair trimmer no longer
[0:08] functions
[0:10] so it doesn’t really turn on nothing
[0:12] happens um that’s a pretty simple uh
[0:15] mechanism so you can see just here
[0:18] there’s a little bit of wire I think
[0:20] that’s that’s visible there and if we
[0:24] manually connect that slightly fiddly
[0:27] but um connect that to there
[0:31] and that to
[0:32] there we can get in get in and connect
[0:35] it there we go
[0:38] that’s
[0:45] there I think you can probably hear
[0:48] that so so it does still work it’s just
[0:51] that the um the piece of metal in here
[0:55] that is supposed to make contact is not
[0:57] actually making contact so when this is
[1:01] when this actually slots together when
[1:03] you turn it to there that should be
[1:05] making contact so seem like a fairly
[1:09] easy fix I think we just need
[1:11] to either pull this up so it makes
[1:14] better contract contact even or
[1:17] um pull this bit of springy metal down a
[1:20] bit so let’s give let’s give that again
[1:24] see if we can get this to work one
[1:26] eternity later so in the end the fix was
[1:29] actually quite simple um had to I messed
[1:32] around quite a bit with this but it was
[1:35] simply that this thing here that makes
[1:37] contact with the negative side of the
[1:41] battery was too far in so I guess when
[1:43] it’s been twisted around to put it back
[1:47] on after changing the battery that
[1:48] slowly got tightened and you can simply
[1:51] loosen the bolt here which then makes it
[1:54] stick up further and now there’s a good
[1:57] contact with the battery so
[2:00] we stick this
[2:04] on and now it’s stopped
[2:08] working okay let’s try that again so
[2:11] definitely making good contact now
[2:15] um so it’s
[2:17] this oh that bit’s moving around now I
[2:21] think I’ve maybe loosened it too much
[2:31] and I think that’s in the right place so
[2:33] let’s try
[2:37] again okay there we
[2:40] go perfect oh now it doesn’t even turn
[2:43] off oh there we go right
[2:47] on it’s a bit uh bit sensitive
[2:51] now but yeah that
[2:54] should it’s a hair trigger get it hair
[2:58] trigger very good I’m here all night try
[3:01] the ve anyway that’s that fixed um I’m
[3:04] sure that was interesting to some people
[3:07] um particular if you’re of my age wear
[3:09] hair seems to be growing everywhere

A collection of slightly mad projects, instructive/educational videos, and generally interesting stuff. Building projects around the Arduino and ESP32 platforms - we'll be exploring AI, Computer Vision, Audio, 3D Printing - it may get a bit eclectic...
